Visit the Sé Catedral, which is classified as a National Monument, stands out for its beauty and interior richness. Pass through the Parque de Santa Catarina, that is a green area with more than 3 hectares, embellished by a small lake with spades and several species of flora. Walk along Avenida do Mar, where you find gardens, palm trees and the hyped up Marinha area. Discover the Mercado dos Lavradores, where people, sellers, fresh and invigorating foods get mixed!  

Learn more about portuguese painting, sculpture and jewellery at the Museu de Arte Sacra. In fact, another option in the oldest area of the city is to walk through the Historic Centre of Funchal.

Notably built at an altitude of more than 350 meters, Pico dos Barcelos Viewpoint is a must, even if only to get some photographs with a beautiful background!
