What to do?

You can start by visiting the historical side of the city: the Castelo de Leiria, medieval style and a monumental symbol of this city, the Batalha Monastery, a Dominican monastery located in the town of Batalha (Leiria) and the Sé de Leiria, an important Mannerist cathedral. 

Pedrogão Beach got its name due to the 370 meters long cliff formation that separates it from the next beach. It’ a lovely beach, with fresh sea and warm sand! 

Enjoy the good weather and take a walk along the Lis River. This river plays a major role in Leiria’s identity, it has inspired poets and prose writers and is even the subject of a legend, of a love affair between the Lis and its affluent the Lena. The natural beauty of its nascent allows you to see the water sprouting in a surprising way in some months of the year. Don’t miss this gorgeous phenomenon!
